Our CEO Effectiveness Survey and the accompanying CEO Effectiveness Report typically suffice for the Chair to engage in a productive conversation with the CEO. This survey-only approach is often utilised concurrently with a board review.
However, many Chairs find value in receiving guidance on supporting the CEO in interpreting and acting on the report. The CEO also benefits from an independent debrief of the report and the Chair’s feedback.

We encourage all respondents to invest additional time in providing constructive written comments on the CEO’s strengths and areas for improvement. This dual feedback from executives and directors enriches the overall process.

One of our governance experts will advise your Chair on interpreting the CEO Effectiveness Report and guiding the CEO’s actions. Drawing on our extensive experience in debriefing numerous CEOs and other effectiveness reports, our expert will provide this advice via video, typically lasting up to one hour.
Chairs consistently find our expert advice to be highly valuable. During the session, the Chair can provide important context, ask any number of questions, and request focus on areas that may be more challenging to discuss with the CEO. Potential initiatives to support the CEO can also be explored.
Our experts typically debrief the CEO following an initial discussion between the Chair and CEO. Occasionally, a Chair may request to debrief the CEO beforehand, or in rare instances, they may opt for a combined debrief with our team present.
