Susan Staples

Susan is a governance and risk professional with deep experience in board and corporate governance, risk governance and assurance. Outcomes-focused, Susan builds trusted relationships with clients, colleagues and stakeholders, working towards achieving the “what” but focusing on the “why” and ensuring that the “how” is in line with better practice.

Susan‘s experience has included leading the delivery of governance advisory projects, including board evaluations and corporate governance reviews focused on improving decision-making and accountability of both governing body members and management. Susan has provided such services to the public sector, health services, education, defence, financial institutions, not-for-profit entities, superannuation funds and mining companies. Susan‘s risk focus has been on the link to effective governance structures, board accountabilities and strategic decision making. Her risk work has crossed the public sector, health services and not-for-profit providers in aged care and disability, where levels of governance and risk maturity vary greatly.
